This group is for dads who are interested in discussing how to foster attachment with their children. Attached dads tend to their children's physical and emotional needs as quickly and thoroughly as possible. We carry, we play, we listen, we talk, we hug, we love. We don't "babysit" - we father. Some ideas for discussion are how to best maintain closeness with our families, navigate our relationships with our partners, deal with being away at our jobs, and anything else to do with being an active, thoughtful and committed father. As it is not my intent to separate fathers from the their families more than necessary, children and partners are welcome. However, discussions will focus on aspects of fatherhood and I will leave it up to each father's discretion as to whether or not he is comfortable speaking about potentially sensitive issues in front of non-dads. If this is a problem for anyone, please let me know. This group is not meant to focus on issues specific to divorce, as many of these groups already exist. However, anyone wanting to discuss the aforementioned ideas is welcome.

Our next meeting:
Attached Dads Toronto Inaugural Meeting
In this meeting, we will first talk about some of the issues we face as fathers and what we would ultimately like to get out of a group like this.
We will then discuss some members' specific concerns and help each other figure out how to achieve what we want out of the relationships we have with our children.
Lastly, we will decide if there is a specific topic we would like to think about for the next meeting.
