As a child, I yearned for a very close, personal relationship with my father. My parents divorced when I was young. I moved from Alabama to Georgia when I was ten. The physical distance seemed to symbolize the relational distance from my dad. As a result, I often thought about the relationship that I wanted to have with my kids. The hopes that I had for life with my kids did not unfold to my expectations, because my maturity was lagging behind my desire. I endured terrible growing pains. My kids …

Meet other local Stay At Home Dads, part-time at home dads, work from home dads, freelance dads, or dads who just want to meet other dads in Lower Westchester. My goal is to set up small get-togethers in the area so we can have our little ones interact with each other. The biggest challenge for us Stay At Home Dads is isolation, so it's time to get out of the house!
We are looking for more stay at home dads (SAHD) in Fairfield County to hang out with and for occasional excursions. The species of male primary care givers is still relatively a rare one and that's why our children's ages are not relevant. At the moment the age group is from newborn till 3 years old. Our current members are from Norwalk and Stamford. Please join us and let your fellow home dads know as well.

This group is for all gay dads in Montclair and surrounding towns raising kids. The goal is to get together on a regular basis so our kids can spend time around other kids who also have gay dads. We could plan simple play dates at our houses, parks, go to events etc. I am starting this group because I think it would be great for our kids to have more of a connectedness to other kids with gay dads.

Let's get together to talk, laugh and enjoy our children. My goal …
The Fathering Forum is a place where Fathers go to be better Dads. It's that simple. We recognize that "Father" is a legal and biological term. But being a Dad is something else entirely. It is an embracing of the responsibilities of Fatherhood and an acknowledgment that we are fathers to all children, not just our own. The members of the Fathering Forum do not pretend to be experts; we are a growing grassroots team of men from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, opinions, beliefs, re …

What about us??? That's how we have felt trying to make new friends who are parents. There are plenty of amazing Meet Ups for new Moms and Dads, but it's frustrating when they only meet at 11am on a Wednesday! This group is to serve as a connector for all of us busy, working parents who are looking for other busy, working parents to befriend! All events will be held on weekends (or the rare evening we can steal ourselves away from that quality hour or two we get with our kids). We hope there are …

This is a group for gay parents interested in play dates, dinners, and general community building. My husband and I recently moved to Fairfield with our 14 month old twins and would like to add some like minded families to our network. I figure we aren't alone in that.
We know how challenging, time-consuming and expensive it can be to connect with other parents while keeping busy NYC schedules, just to have some fun playdates for young children! This Meet-Up group will focus on creating fun play-date experiences for young toddlers and infants! Besides, moms and dads make new friendships within the community and share their experiences and wealth of knowledge!

Are you a Father litigating in Family Court? Do you think you are getting a raw deal? If you are a Father, then you mostly likely are being abused by the Family Court system. There is almost no common social support for you and your cause. This meetup would be to network, discuss, share concerns and war stories, and mutually assist Fathers in Family Court, both in their efforts in their case, and activism to address the inequities incipient in that system.

Almost 3 years has passed since my cutie pie was born and I started this wonderful new moms and dads group, to make friends who have babies too. I like to continue the group now that she is in preschool and invite all members to actively post events and outings for around town or bergen county. Babies, toddlers and kids are welcome at each outing. Events in the area will be posted by any and all the members. However, the main purpose of this group is that the members can casually plan a quick br …

I recently posted this ad on Craigslist: I'm a keyboard player, suburban dad, 40, formerly a touring musician now a computer nerd. I want to play music regularly but I don't want that music to be from the 50's and 60's. I also can't join your band and start touring (as much fun as that would be). I am searching for a gig that has the following characteristics: - competent musicians - this means that you know how to play, can pick up tunes by ear and are comfortable just sitting down and jamming …
