All the cool dads who play along with the NE moms & friends need their own calendar...so here it is! Feel free to make suggestions for meetups or outings (with or without the kids). Don't forget about the message board - share info/ideas/trade gear, etc. Note: the only reason Snow is listed as the organizer is that we are avoiding subscription fees by making this site a satellite site of the existing NE moms group...if we officially started from scratch with a new organizer, we would ha …

Guys, are you realizing that parenthood isn't quite what you expected? Need some tools to help get you through the rough spots? Wonder what's up with this baby, and your partner? This is the group for you. Come meet other new and soon-to-be dads in a casual environment where you can grab coffee and ask questions -- the real questions -- and get answers. I'm lucky if I only work 40 hours and I think that I'm still a good mother though new at it! This is [will be] a group for moms/dads with young kids trying to figure out how to juggle work and family while still finding time for themselves. I'm based in NE Portland and will next to never head over to the west side unless it's downtown, the Children's Museum, and to the zoo. Special events are my exception, so I'll primarily be posting activities W. of 82nd and N. of Powell. I see this group as …

I searched for bilingual Korean/American for baby group and found none in Portland, Oregon. So, I decided to start one to see if anyone would be interested in teaching the Korean language to their babies. I speak fluent Korean and English. I am a mom with 6 month old twin boys. I started reading Korean story book and also singing Korean children songs. I am hoping to meet more moms and dads who are willing to share ideas and also participate in children play-time in Korean/American language. Yo …
Are you a single parent who would like to have a single location for helpful and fun activities, resources, and information that is pertinent to YOUR life as a single parent? I am starting this group because there are lots of resources out there, but sometimes hard to find the ones that apply to us as single moms and dads, and we just don't have the time to go hunting for them. At our meetups we will be involved with simple fun events, but you will also have the opportunity to attend more …
After almost 2 years of struggling to find adventurous, energetic & crafty outdoor Moms and Dads with "babbies", I've decided to start a group of my own. Here's the difference between my group and other wonderful options you may find. I'd love to have your company on our outdoor adventures (some that end up being day-trips), but I'm also looking to start & be part of a village. What ever happened to cleaning swaps, baby swaps, cooking swaps, etc? If you are an outdoor enthusiast and you believe …

While we do focus on signing, the broader mission of the group is two-fold: 1) Language Building (for the kiddos) 2) Community Building (for the parents) All members of the group …

Some fathers who don't live with the mother are very capable, concerned parents. Many of us are better able to make the best decisions for our children. That has to be true in some cases, as many of us know first hand. However, the courts are statistically unlikely to recognize those fathers that are the best parent. They may not award legal custody on the basis of primary caretaker, or on a hidden gender discrimination developed over years of dealing with dead beat dads. As excellent parents, r …
